Rita was born on September 7, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Clarence and Helen “Pat” (Edwards) Bauman.
Rita was born and raised in Dubuque and was a proud graduate of Dubuque Senior High School, Class of 1958. After graduation, Rita traveled to California, where she would meet her future husband at a dance at Coconut Grove. She was united in marriage to Mastan Singh, on October 10, 1959, in Watsonville, California, and they were blessed with 38 wonderful years, and 3 adored daughters together, before he was called home ahead of her on August 3, 1998. Luckily, Rita would once again find love with Keith L. Roth, and they would marry on September 3, 2005, at the Church of the Resurrection. Rita and Keith would seamlessly blend their families together, and go on to be blessed with 14 lovely years together. Rita was always a dedicated worker, and was employed with Mastercraft for several years, then began driving bus for the Dubuque Community Schools, she worked for Haun’s Butcher Shop and lastly was a security guard at the Greyhound Park kennels and later at the casino. In her free time, Rita enjoyed entertaining family and friends, getting everyone together and making traditional meals for them to share was one of her favorite activities. Rita was also known to spend an afternoon engaging in a little retail therapy, always on the look out for a great buy. She was a creative woman, who took joy in sitting quietly working on her next beautiful crochet project, always happy to share her creations with family. Rita and Keith also liked to spend a night out on the town, heading out to dinner and a movie, or catching a concert, attending 16-17 concerts over the past few years. Keith spoiled Rita over their entire 14 years relationship, and she loved every minute of it. We are deeply saddened at losing our dear, sweet Rita, and will miss her more than words can convey, but take comfort in the fact that we will all be reunited one day for Eternity.
